THE GABLES IN KINGHAM – AGED AND TUMBLED SOLID HERRINGBONE WOOD FLOORING

Mazon Flooring has had the privilege of working with Marcus and Paula over several years as they transformed two unique old properties in the picturesque Cotswolds.

For this phase of their Kingham renovation, we focused on the kitchen, diner, lounge, and four bedrooms, installing a stunning aged and tumbled solid herringbone block flooring. After the installation, the flooring was meticulously oiled on-site, providing a flawless finish while sealing any rough edges.

Sub-Floor Preparation: The Foundation of Excellence

Preparing the sub-floor for this project required extensive work to ensure the wood flooring would perform beautifully for years to come. Our team:

• Installed 6mm ply board across all floorboard areas.
• Used over 60 bags of smoothing compound to level the floors.
• Applied epoxy paint on damp-proof membrane on the ground floor to protect against moisture ingress.
