After assessing various options, we recommended a concrete-effect loose lay luxury vinyl tile (LVT) from the renowned manufacturer Interface. This product offered several key advantages:

Why Loose Lay LVT?

Typically, Mazon Flooring specifies fully glued-down LVT for projects that require an element of sub-floor preparation. However, loose lay LVT can be an excellent alternative when used correctly by professionals, especially when a specific colour or style isn’t available in a glued-down format.

In this instance, the old existing luxury vinyl flooring was in good condition and had been laid over plyboard on a suspended timber floor. This made it possible to install the loose lay LVT with tackifier adhesive directly over the existing LVT flooring. By avoiding the need to uplift and dispose of the current floor, we reduced project costs and eliminated potential repairs or replacement of the ply board.
