Large tile installation Harborne

Mazon Flooring undertook this tile install project at the request for and interior designer client of ours. The customer lived in Harborne and was looking for a specialist service and knowledge of large-format tile installation.

The chosen tiles were 1200mm by 1200mm, and before installation we were required to check on the sub-floor to confirm flatness, moisture content and any flooring preparation required.

With large format tiles, particular attention needs to be paid to the layout of the room, with regard to the position of any fixed furniture [in this case a kitchen being installed after the tiles had gone down]. Whilst it is not always possible for the grout lines to be in the perfect position and everything centred, prior thought need to be given and clients forewarned about positioning.

Mazon Flooring installed the tiles on to a decoupling membrane, and used flexible adhesive and grout, so as to work alongside the water-based under floor heating system.
