Overcoming Challenges: Sub-Floor Preparation
During our sub-floor inspection, we detected a moisture level too high for direct installation of the luxury vinyl flooring. To address this, we applied a damp-proof membrane to manage construction moisture and maintain the project schedule.
Our meticulous preparation involved:
- Lightly abrading and vacuuming the screed surface to remove dust.
- Applying two coats of Wakol PU230 primer for moisture control.
- Adding a layer of Wakol D3045 grit primer to enhance adhesion.
- Finishing with a 4mm coat of Kelmore Levelmore Pro smoothing compound and a final application of Kelmore Feather for a perfectly smooth sub-floor.
