Karndean Art Select Fiore with border work in central Birmingham

The decision was made to go for Karndean Art select Fiore Marble LM16, with a diamond border around the edge in the hallway. Carpet was also required for one bedroom and the lounge area, with the Cormar Primo Plus range being the most suitable for the level of use and look required. The client also wanted to have an electric under floor heating system supplied and installed, which Mazon Flooring are both experienced and confident in providing.

The first stage was to install the under floor heating system, decide on the position of thermostat and run of the cables. Once this was all finalised, a backer board was installed to provide a base and insulation, and then the under floor heating cable were installed and fixed down to stop them from floating up. We then applied a coat of screed to encapsulate the cables. After the screed had dried a few days later, we were ready to proceed with the Karndean flooring installation.

The look and feel of the hallway border and central field was pivotal in the whole design of the apartment, and this is where the majority of time was spent. Once the hallway border and central area were set out and installed, the bathroom and kitchen could then be run off this design.

In conjunction with the Karndean work, we uplifted and removed carpet from the bedroom and lounge, and installed new Cormar Primo Plus carpet and underlay.

Once all of the work was completed, we trimmed any doors that required adjusting, and even cut a new bath panel and supporting frame in for the client.

Overall, a stunning job, with hard work and extra time spent to get things right from the start.
