The client was after a hard-wearing flooring option for a new kitchen/dining extension.

After some deliberation, it was decided that a good quality laminate floor would provide the best compromise between quality, suitability and cost.

The top of the range Quickstep impressive range was chosen, which is hard wearing and has very good resistance to moisture and abrasion.

We had to undertake a large amount of floor preparation work, removing old kitchen tiles, knocking out high points in the sub-floor and applying smoothing compound between the old and new floors to bring up heights and create a more gradual transition.

The finished result works perfectly with the kitchen colours and overall aesthetic of the room.

The client even decided to extend the laminate into a bedroom at the end of the extension, rather than going for a carpet.
